part 3

Intentional Habits

Identity Shift

*Habits

Your habits will either make you or break you… You’re probably already aware of the habits breaking you… They’re the things that you tell yourself you’re going to stop doing… but never do. Like eating fast food and junk food everyday… Or spending your entire paycheck and not saving or investing anything… Or not flossing your teeth… Or letting the dishes pile up instead of putting them away immediately after you use them… Today I want you to commit to breaking your bad habits once and for all… This may require you to replace that habit with something else to fill the void. For instance if you usually scroll your phone before bed, filling the void could be drawing or reading instead. Or if you want to stop drinking sodas, filling the void could be drinking tea or probiotic drinks instead. Use the space below to get clear on the habits you will build and break.

*Systems

Good habits are easier to maintain when you have the right systems in place. Systems also make it easier to achieve your goals… Systems are the way you do things. If you want to make drinking water a habit, the system you could put in place is putting a bottle of water by your night stand, buying a stanley cup for on the go and refilling it before you leave the house, or setting alarms to remind you to drink water. Or if you want to achieve a goal of losing 20 pounds, the system you put in place could be finding a friend to workout with and scheduling set days to work out together. As well as setting alarms in your phone to remind you to take 30 minute walks daily. Focusing more on the systems you put in place and less on the goal or actual habit is what will improve your chances of success. Use the space below to write down the systems you will put in place for the habits you want to build or goals you want to achieve.
